Learn how to easily send and receive files on your Samsung Galaxy device using Quick Share. Follow the step-by-step instructions and troubleshooting guides below for more information.
Please note: This guide is designed for Australian variant Galaxy devices. If you have an international device and require further support, click here to get in touch with your Samsung subsidiary.
Quick Share requires the sending device to be operating on Android OS Version 10.0 (Q) and above.
Check that the receiving device has allowed device visibility. To update 'Who can share with you', open your Settings > Connected devices > Who can share with you > set to Everyone.
Having trouble locating your device? If your Galaxy phone pr tablet isn't appearing during a Quick Share transfer, it is typically because the device is locked, Phone visibility is turned off, or Bluetooth and Wi-Fi aren't active to support the connection.
Keep both screens awake:
Quick Share may pause or cancel the transfer if the receiving device locks or goes to sleep. Keep the screen unlocked on both devices until the transfer reached 100%.
Toggle your connections:
Quick Share uses Bluetooth to locate the device and Wi-Fi Direct to send the file. On both devices, swipe down on the top of the screen to access your Quick Panel, turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off, wait 5 seconds, and turn them back on.
Clear the Quick Share app cache:
Sometimes background app data gets stuck. On the sending device:
1. Navigate to Settings > Apps
2. Scroll down to Quick Share
3. Tap on Storage > Clear cache
Check storage space:
Ensure the receiving device has sufficient available storage to accept the file. You can check this by going into Settings > Device Care > Storage.
